The sentences engraved on the pickets were originally endless lamentations, words, and countenance.
PICKETLINE is a proxy protests of the double sent out by those who could not yet made their own protest slogans.
PICKETLINE is a series project designed with attention to protests among the expression methods that are the basis of the street. It was inspired by the language of candlelight protests in Gwanghwamun in 2016, the slogan 'We want bread but roses too' in Massachusetts in 1912, and the little dolls protesting in Barnaul, Russia in 2012.
The sentences engraved on the pickets were originally endless lamentations, words, and countenance. PICKETLINE is a proxy protests of the double sent out by those who could not yet made their own protest slogans.
This work focuses on stories that couldn't became a protests slogan. These are the voices sent out by those who had to choose to self-isolate and distance themselves due to limitations in movement and contact even before the COVID-19. It was planned to imagine the future after the disaster through a story that was neglected and not revealed properly. Various methods are used, such as a finger-sized puppet object being displayed guerrilla in public spaces or infiltrating individual spaces through postal services.

ⓒGeneralkunst
Generalkunst presents their work mostly in unconventional spaces such as streets, forests, old building and art museums. A female director produces her works with diverse collaborators. The most important collaborators are the ‘audience’. The artworks become ‘something of everyone and by everyone’, just as the name of the team implies.
Every performance of Generalkunst asks where the audience located and who they are. The themes are not from the privileged or from general situations. In most cases, focused on ‘labor’ and ‘gender’ which form the daily life of the people who couldn’t have a chance to be an audience like night workers, people with disabilities, infants, and so on. This corresponds to the value and role of the arts Generalkunst suggest.
